Tin foil in the remote is good if you’re in a pinch – the voltage is the same. But they will drain way faster, so make sure you go get some double-A right away! (AAA are more expensive, too)
Cool tips though – I like the extra shower-curtain rod idea. I’m soooo sick of tripping over junk in the tub all the time!

The foil is on the negative end of those batteries, not the positive.

Are you saying just but the ice cream in a plastic bag will keep it soft?
I don’t understand the ice cream tip? Can you please explain.
I think the trick is the water in the ice does not evaporate this way.
